Printed Flats

May 8, 2014

I’ve noticed and love all the printed flats that I’m seeing everywhere at the moment. At first I was just seeing them online, but now they’re in all the high street shops too for really reasonable prices…. Such an easy way to dress up a boring college outfit! Here’s just a few of them that I could find online:

The Met Gala 2014

May 6, 2014

The Best Dressed Ball of the year finally arrived last night – The Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.

This year’s theme of White Tie and Decorations was in tribute to Charles James, an American designer described as the first US designer.

Hosted by Anna Wintour at $15,000 a ticket, she hoped this years ‘dress to impress’ code would see celebrities attend in more sophisticated attire than previous years, and I think it worked.

Another Reason to Migrate…

May 4, 2014

BeFunky Collage

One look at the above photos and you won’t need another reason, but believe it or not Australia has even more to offer than the cities, beaches and weather its known so well for. The online shopping stores have a standard of their own in Oz… and imagine not having to pay shipping and tax (almost half what you spend). I’m looking up flights.

5779677 Sabo Skirt
Notorious for their blonde, tanned models and Instagram account with over 1 million followers. Sabo Skirt offers casual, always summery clothing for reasonable prices. They also sell gorgeous hats, bags and jewellery which is promoted through their eye-catching social media posts.

I ordered from here once before, it took 2 – 3 weeks and arrived with tax added forcing me to pay almost half the cost already paid, again. As expected it arrived in adorable packaging, if only I hadn’t been so excited I might have taken a photo to share. Although expensive I was very happy with the quality so I probably will order from here again when I feel like treating myself. BeFunky Collage BeFunky Collages

OneTeaspoon 7140506
With a lot of black, whites and neutral tones this sophisticated/rebellious Aussie label comes with a slightly higher price tag than Sabo Skirt. They are known for their denim designs and are even sold in Dublin, Ireland in Bowtique  on Dame Lane.

Like Sabo Skirt, they have a strong presence on Instagram, thats actually where I found them. You can follow them at: @oneteaspoon_

8483690 Peppermayo
Another cheap and definitely cheerful option. Colourful, fun, playful. I’m also a sucker for prints, which they do to a tee.

Again the Instagram addict is coming out in me, but I think these guys are definitely worth a follow @peppermayo. BeFunky Collage BeFunky Collage2

We could definitely do with one of these shops in Ireland. Its like a more on trend ALDO. Their styles range from simple to crazy coloured, in both heels and flats.

Unfortunately with most pairs of shoes being over $100 and shipping to Ireland an additional $75 I won’t be purchasing anytime soon. They are pretty to look at though.

Thats just a few of the fabulous online shops Australia has to offer, I’m sure they are jealous of us with Missguided, Topshop, Zara, H&M, ASOS and many more to choose from, but looking at these sites its hard to see why. The grass is always greener I suppose.

Anyway the trouble with ordering from these sites is even if you are prepared to pay for the shipping and tax charges, the body and the tan are not included…
