Today is a good day. It’s Friday and it’s payday and the weekend is here again!

I’m lucky that I have a job that I love, so the weekdays really aren’t that bad, especially in the summer, but you can’t beat the feeling of having two whole days off to do whatever you want. Starting with some happy hour drinks at 5pm.

This weekend I am experiencing my first NY beach day of the summer – incase you haven’t guessed by now, I love the beach. Myself & Erika are heading out to Long Island for a beach/ pool party on Sunday. It will be nice to get out of the humid city for the day. Expect lots of Insta & Snapchat updates! Speaking of the sticky weather we have been experiencing in New York – dressing for work has become even more of a challenge. Especially now that I walk to and from work. I picked up this jumpsuit in the Zara sale and think it is perfect for hot summer days in work when put with a blazer. The heels on the cobble stones? Not sure they are quite as practical.

Happy Friday everyone!

Summer Sunday in Gramercy

June 24, 2015

This past weekend was the first one in ages I’ve had the whole weekend in the city with no major plans – and I couldn’t have been happier about it! I caught up with friends, lounged around in the sun and had lots of food and drink.. my favourite kind of weekend.
It kicked off with a Sex and the City marathon sleepover, complete with Wine and Chinese food and ended with a fabulous dinner on my friend’s rooftop in Williamsburg. I’m really starting to enjoy the summer in NY, even if it does come with unbearable humidity.
Sunday began with a stroll and some people watching around Gramercy Park. It’s a private park that you need a key to get into, only the houses that surround the park have keys – hence why they are all so nice! I think I speak for every girl in New York when I say living in one of these would be the absolute dream. For now, I’m happy being able to walk here from my own place in less than 5 mins, not a bad Sunday morning stroll…Here are the details of what I’m wearing:

Blouse – Nasty Gal
Shorts – Forever 21 (Similar here)
Sunglasses H&M
Bag – Forever 21
Shoes – Necessary Clothing (Similar here)
Watch – Michael Kors

Dominican Republic – Holiday Outfits

June 18, 2015

I’m a week home from the Dominican Republic tomorrow – and honestly I still feel so refreshed from it. Being back in New York is so exciting too, maybe because I’m in my new apartment, or maybe because I’m in my last few months here so I really want to make the most of it. The summer months are the best so I know I have lots to look forward to.

Summer shopping, packing and wearing is my favourite kind so I thought I would do a post on some of the outfits I brought with me to the Dominican Republic. Now to get shopping for my next trip up to Cape Cod when my family get here in 2 weeks…

Dominican Republic

June 15, 2015

The Caribbean is one of those places that has been on my bucket list (and probably everyone else’s) for a long time so I was more than excited when myself and my boyfriend Eamon finally booked to go last month.

I can honestly say it was the prettiest place I think I’ve ever been. Everywhere I looked was a ready made postcard – any of you who follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (lou1409) already know how snap happy I was. When we were booking to go there, we looked at different places we could stay, a friend of ours suggested somewhere smiliar to but decided on the Grand Bahia instead.

We stayed in the gorgeous Grand Bahia Principe resort just outside Dominican Republic’s 3rd largest city – La Romana. It is an all inclusive resort so we had 5 days and nights of unlimited food & drink – quite honestly don’t know how I’ll ever go on another holiday again. It was so relaxing and carefree!
