End of Autumn Catch Up

October 28, 2015

Hey guys,

I hope everyone’s having a great October! I thought I would do a quick catch-up post, the last week has been so busy I haven’t had much time to blog so I thought I would fill you all in on what I’ve been up to.

Last week with work was a very busy one as I helped organise a big workshop we were having for all of our overseas colleagues. If you have me on Snapchat (username: lou1409) you would have seen I fit in a quick trip to Belfast before heading back down to Dublin on Thursday night for the Blog Awards Ireland where I was nominated for Best Lifestyle Blog. It was 1920’s themed and people really went with the theme which was fun – I guess people are in Halloween mode now so dressing up is easy! I wore this fab embellished dress from Cari’s Closet with my grey fur Stole from Zara.

I’ve also been trying to make my room a little more cosy and homely in Dublin – I finally made a trip to IKEA and got some of the bedroom necessities that have been on my list for a while (a rail, a stool, shoe rack, sheepskin rug, lots of candles). IKEA is one of those places that I just cannot go into and pick up ‘what I went in for’, but I’m ok with that 🙂 Continue Reading…

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is good and having a good week. This week is an exciting and very busy one for me. Having a full time job as well as blogging – which is a full time job in itself definitely keeps me on my toes. I love having the opportunity to do both and I’m lucky in that they do overlap a little as I work in Digital PR – so what I learn in blogging can be applied to my work and vice versa. Course 2: Thinking Like A Designer

October 17, 2015

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

I just knocked out “Thinking Like a Designer,” the second section of the ten-week course in Fashion Industry Essentials with Teen Vogue & Parsons School of Design. I’m not going to lie — when I first saw the theme, I thought, “Hmm, designing…this isn’t really the direction I see myself going in.” I wasn’t sure if I would take as much from it as I did from the first part. But wow, was I wrong. Now I understand that designers are so central to everything about fashion. Whether or not you see yourself designing, it’s important and interesting to understand how designers think. I believe the more you understand and appreciate them, the more your career in the fashion industry will blossom. Continue Reading…

Paris – Outfit Diary

October 14, 2015

Following on from yesterday’s post where I spoke about what myself and Eamon got up to on our weekend getaway to Paris last weekend I thought I would share my outfit details from the few days.

In the two weeks before I left my Instagram newsfeed was filled with photos from Paris Fashion Week so I was bursting with outfit inspirations. I wanted to have a bit of fun with what I was wearing. Paris seems to be one of those cities where you can get away with pretty much anything.

The first night I wore this very pretty pink tulle skirt from matched with this cropped crochet cream top from Fashion Bible UK. I felt like I was playing dress up, it was fun to wear. I also love these Valentino look-a-like shoes I picked up in Necessary Clothing in New York last year. I’ve gotten so much wear out of them.
