Retail Therapy.. It’s a Thing!

Hey guys,

I hope you’re all having a good week. I usually try and keep things pretty positive on here and on my social media. I’m a believer than sending out negative vibes does nothing for anyone. But I suppose it’s good to keep things honest as well, we all have weeks where we are feeling less than positive and this week is that for me.

On the plus side, I really do love clothes (you may have got that haha) – so I picked up some nice bits this week to cheer me up. Is that really materialistic and sad? Oh well… It worked!

I picked up this cream, co-ord satin shorts and ca Continue Reading…

Home Decor

Hey guys,

I thought I would share something new for me – interiors! It’s definitely something that I’m really interested in and something I wish I had more time (and money) to explore. I picked up some fab pieces from the lifestyle store Red Earth in Mullingar and Dublin, and I wanted to share some snaps.

I think my home interior style is similar to my personal style; minimalistic, classic and feminine. This is something that Red Earth do very well – shopping made too easy!! I could spend all day searching on Pinterest for decor ideas – someday I will have a house like some of these… someday! Something I’ve always looked forward to is customizing my home to suit me. Not everything on the market is going to suit you, unfortunately, and that’s why I enjoy customizable companies and furniture so much! For example, these custom shower doors would be a great asset to my future home, and the ability to personalize any wallpaper would be great. Continue Reading…

Body and Soul

Hey guys,

Here we are at the start of another week. How is it mid-June already? There’s so much on at the moment that time seems to be just running away on me. This weekend was spent at Body and Soul Festival in Westmeath. I hadn’t camped at a festival since Oxegen in 2010 (6 years ago) – and that was definitely not an easy camping experience as it rained the whole time. I mentioned in my last few blog posts (here and here) that I was a little nervous about camping, and although I only did it for one night it really wasn’t as bad as I had remembered it.

Having the right camping equipment definitely added to our enjoyment of the festival. Aldi were kind enough to send me out some of their camping gear which was a total surprise I was all prepared to go online and buy it from but I was very fortunate not to have to this time so it saved me some money. I did consider bringing some additional tools along to help make the camp experience even better – for preparing our meals and cutting down and shaping our firewood, I thought I would do some research into the best tactical knife as I knew one would come in handy at some stage, whether out here or for some other occasion where I’m out camping in harsh environments for a real survivalist experience. Our 2 man tent popped itself up, so we didn’t have to worry about putting it up. It was also really light and came in a little bag with handles, making it easy to carry in to the festival. This tent is only €25.99.

We also had the 5 man tent from Aldi (€99.99) which looked amazing and so spacious but it was quite heavy so we would have needed a wheelbarrow to bring it in. Next time I will definitely be bringing a bigger tent though, we hadn’t really taken into account the fact that our bags had to come into the tent with us. Maybe we could even consider the options from this site for other camping adventures down the line as well. My favourite piece from the Aldi camping gear has to be the moonchair (seen in the pics)- how cute! This was only €24.99. They’ll all be available in Aldi from Thursday, June 23rd onwards! They also have tent lights, picnic bags, sleeping bags, basically anything you need to get your camp set up 🙂 Continue Reading…

Summer Stripes in London

June 17, 2016

Happy Friday!!!

Here is my final, and my favourite look I’ve shared from my trip to London last weekend. I am obsessed with this skirt I picked up in River Island last week. It’s actually sold out now 🙁 but there are similar styles here and here. I matched it with a simple off the shoulder top from H&M and a pair of nude heels from Dorothy Perkins. We shot this look in Knightsbridge, how pretty are the houses!!! Continue Reading…

Floral Jumpsuit in St. Martins Lane Hotel

June 16, 2016

Hey guys,

I hope you’re all having a good week. It’s been a busy one for me. On arriving back from London I was straight back into work, but not before heading to a Lancome workshop and testing out there new eyeliner ‘Grandoise’. As I’ve said previously here and here, I’m definitely not a make-up professional by any account, but I do believe in investing in the right products to make the process a little easier. Eye liner is one of the tricky ones – it’s very hard to find one that goes on evenly, and doesn’t smudge throughout the day. This is it for me! I’ve finally found a good one. It is launching in Brown Thomas this summer at a retail price of €29.

This morning I was at the Penney’s Autumn/ Winter press day, and oh my god! They have such nice stuff! You may have seen my posts featuring their Summer stock in Ibiza (here & here) – it’s rare I look forward to winter when summer is only getting started, but take a look at my Snapchat (lou1409) and you’ll see what I’m saying! I need everything!!! Continue Reading…
