My Skincare Regime

October 31, 2016

Skincare, this is something I’ve definitely gotten more committed to over the past year or two, and is 100% something that needs more attention coming into the winter months. The mix of Ireland’s harsh, winter weather with the intense heating indoors really drys out our skin. I have combination skin, so for me I find it difficult to find products that will make my dry areas healthy without oiling up my t-zone too much. However just before the summer I started using Eucerin skincare products and I honestly have noticed the world of difference in my skin. I don’t wear a lot of make-up, I like to keep it as natural as possible, so having my skin in it’s best possible condition is important to me.

My life is so busy with working full time and running the blog that when I can take quick, easy way outs I do. But skincare is just one of those things that deserves the time, the quality products and the routine. A year ago I didn’t know where to start when it came to skincare, and if I could see myself now I would be so proud haha! Here are a list of the skincare rules I now live by: Continue Reading…

Balancing Work and Blogging

Hi everyone,

Happy hump day! I’m sure I’m not the only one happy to hit the half way point this week and looking forward to the long weekend ahead – it’s needed. Working full time and blogging as well definitely keeps me busy, especially when general life admin such as moving house comes into the mix – that’s a whole new level of busy. Especially when I’ve only just learnt How To Sell Your Home Without Realtor, which is making the process a whole lot easier than it was before, but there’s still so much to do!

One of the questions I get asked most often is how I balance everything. If you follow me on Snapchat (lou1409) you’ll know my days are normally pretty jam-packed and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I try to be as organised as I can be, here are my top tips I live by to try and keep everything balanced:

  1. Keep a Diary

I write down all my plans as they happen. This way I can flick forward a couple of weeks and check if I am available. On a busy day I will even write my plans down according to times – it may sound crazy but it works. I’ve become so dependent on my diary I don’t even try and remember my plans anymore, I’ve become one of those ‘Let me check my diary’ people. LOL! God help me if I ever lose it. One of these days I’ll have to master the iPhone Diary. Continue Reading…

Winter Neutrals

Hey everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a nice chilled weekend, not as productive as I would have liked but sure look! I still have a million and one things to do to help me settle into the new place, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. We’ll get there.

My Saturday morning started with a visit to Peter Mark. on Grafton street. I still have my Rapture Hair Extensions in, I had the same hair re-positioned on Saturday and I have to say I’m so happy with how they’ve lasted – in particular the colour, and this is one of the things I’m asked about most often with them. They come as they look, with the hair colouring already done, so it is simply a case of matching the extensions to your own hair colour. I have found I’ve gotten much longer out of my hair colour this time because I have the extensions. As I have balayage the extensions really just amplify the colour and save me having to get it done so often. For all other questions about the hair do refer to my last blog post, or just pop into one of the Peter Mark salons where they will give you a free consultation. Continue Reading…

Winter Vibes

Hi there,

Happy hump day! I couldn’t be happier to see the half way point this week after a crazy start to my week – packing up my old apartment and moving into my new one. As I mentioned on Snapchat during the week, I hadn’t planned on moving, so hadn’t really done a clear out at all beforehand. The amount of stuff I’ve gathered in a year is insane. How I managed to fit it all in my tiny room I’ll never know haha! Moving is never fun, and unfortunately most of us in our twenties get to experience this every year or so – lucky us! The hard work is done now though thank god! I have so much more space in my new place – I can’t wait to properly unpack and really settle in. I’ll be back with more of an update on that but follow me on Snapchat in the meantime (username: lou1409).

I hate to say it but winter has well and truly arrived this week. I had a lovely walk to work today in 7 degree temperatures. There’s no such thing as leaving the house without your coat anymore – thank god I have invested in a few nice ones this year. This pink one is definitely one of my favourites 🙂  Continue Reading…

Changing with the Seasons

Hi everyone,

I hope your week is off to a good start today. I had a very relaxing, chilled weekend and am feeling fresh for the week ahead. After more than a month off the wagon I’m determined to start being more healthy this week and to get back into the swing of things. Starting with a TRX class tonight that I am not looking forward to…

It’s always a challenge falling back into routine after a bit of time off, but it’s a worthwhile challenge. It was only over the weekend it really hit me that I’ve been back in Dublin more than a full year now. I’ve definitely developed my routines and am feeling quite comfortable in them… so you know what that means – time to shake it up haha! There will be some exciting changes happening over the next few weeks, I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop and fill you in when I can.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new

This look is sadly the last one for a while where I’ll have the legs out. The weather is changing fast and summer is well and truly gone. I’ve never been a fan of winter, I know so many people who look forward to winter boots, cosy jumpers, layers, coats… and I’m just not one of those people. I’m a summer baby! But I’m doing my best to adjust haha (namely I’ve invested in 4 pairs of winter boots and 3 coats over the past 2 weeks to keep the cold at bay!) Continue Reading…
