5 Reasons I’m Smiling This Friday

November 18, 2016

Hey guys,

Happy Friday!!! My favourite day of the week 🙂 I thought I’d do some a little different today on the blog and tell you 5 reasons why I’m smiling today!

1. Friday Feeling
I dunno if it’s just me but the Friday feeling is particularly good these days. In the winter the weeks definitely feel longer, the dark mornings and evenings make the week days pretty grim. On the plus side that makes the weekend all the better.

2. The Festive Season is here
With all the Christmas lights up and on it’s hard not to feel a little bit of excitement for the month ahead. It’s finally time to get brainstorming for your Secret Santa person, watch all of the new Christmas ads and get your Christmas playlist up and running on Spotify (YES, finally!)

3. I’m going home for the weekend

It’s been ages since I’ve been home for the weekend so I’m looking forward to going home, relaxing, catching up with the family and my friends, and eating a lot.

4. I’m happy

Things are pretty good at the moment. Work is going well, I’m really busy with the blog, I’m having fun – why not smile 🙂

This is a big reason for my smile today – this week I started the process of getting 6 Ultra Thin Veneers on my top teeth. I’ve had fluorosis on my teeth since they formed – that basically means they appear chalky and have discolouration with some parts much whiter than others. This was always most obvious on my front two teeth and it’s gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. The only solution was always to get veneers – I remember being told when I was 16 I would have to wait until I was 21 – and now I’m 24 so I’m following through.

The thoughts of having my teeth shaved down really didn’t appeal to me, both for the thought of loosing my original teeth shape and for the seriousness of it. So thankfully My Dental offer the Ultra Thin Veneers which are the equivilant of ‘contact lenses’ for the teeth. My teeth don’t have to be shaved down at all, they will simply be placed on top. My original teeth will be left untouched.

I had my impressions done this week, meaning I have fitted the shape and picked the colour. I definitely don’t want the ‘perfect Hollywood smile’. I just want to ensure my teeth are all the same colour, and hopefully feel more confident in my smile.

My appointment to have them in is in a few weeks so I will hopefully have them this time next month. I’ll be back with photos and more details at that point.

In the meantime check out My Dental’s website where you can see more information about the Veneers I’m getting.

Anyway, a few words on what I’m wearing here. I’m wearing this gorgeous Bell Sleeve Boohoo Top (which was only €16 – how good?!) with my new Helen Moore Faux Fur Scarf from My Shining Armour which I haven’t taken off since I’ve got it. It’s so warm and the fur is so soft. I need all the faux fur I can get in this freezing weather.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Louise x
