2016: The Best Lessons I Learnt

December 30, 2016

2016 is coming to an end and I really can’t believe how fast that year went. Time just seems to be going faster and faster as I get older. That’s why I wanted to write this post. to make sure I’m making the most of and taking as much as I can from each year.

2016 was a really good year in many ways with lots of amazing travel, adventures with friends and enjoyable work – but at times it was definitely hard too – loved ones passed away, there were make-ups and break-ups and times when trying to manage two jobs wasn’t that easy. I think it’s safe to say I learnt a few things from this year. Here are 8 of the most valuable lessons I learnt:

1. Be kind to yourself

It’s a crazy, busy, hard world we live in and we’re all doing our best – I’m sure I’m not the only one who is their own worst critic but I’m gonna try and be a little kinder to myself next year. I’m going to give myself more pats on the back when I do things I’m proud of, I want to feel less guilty for doing things I want to do and I’m going to make being really happy a priority.

2. Work hard

At the start of 2016 I made a list of goals I wanted to reach at the end of the year. Currently sitting in the last week of the year I can happily say I more than met all of my goals over the past year, which tells me that 1. I should aim higher next year and 2. all my hard work paid off. It’s definitely not always easy to keep working, but now I can see the value of keeping at it even when I didn’t always feel like it. Last Outfit Post of 2016

December 28, 2016

Hey guys,

I hope you’re all enjoying the Christmas break. For me it’s been just what I needed, lots of food, catch-ups and binge watching on Netflix (I’ve watched 19 episodes of Homeland in the last 4 days!)

I shot this look right before I left Dublin to head home for Christmas, I woke up with a cold that morning – one that hasn’t left me since 🙁  All the nights out haven’t been helping haha!

I’m back to work on Friday – but I’ll have had a full week at home at that point so I’m happy with that. I literally never take holidays off to just chill, Christmas is so good for that 🙂 I feel really relaxed and recharged now. Ready for a new year!

Here I’m wearing my new pink faux fur coat from Revolve – you may have noticed I’m a bit of a fur fiend this year. I paired it with my GG Marmont Gucci bag, a leopard print skirt from Topshop (similar here) and a crop bardot top from Boohoo. This is my last outfit post of the year, I hope you’ve enjoyed all the different looks I’ve shared this year. I always enjoy putting them together, it’s the one thing that will get me out of bed even when I’m sick!   Continue Reading…

Sparkles and Silk

December 24, 2016

Hey guys,

Happy Christmas eve, I hope you’re all having a lovely relaxing day. If you follow me on Snapchat (lou1409) you’ll see I had a crazy busy week of catching up with friends, literally every night of the week there was something  on. As a result I’m hibernating today, with a terrible cold. I’ll be minding myself for the next few days, chilling, drinking tea and eating everything I can get my hands on – a few lazy days are needed at this point.

Of course after a few days of downtime I’ll be ready to go again. As it is the season to wear sparkles and get dressed up I wanted to give my blog readers a sneak peak at this dress I got from Revolve for a ball I have coming up over the festive season. I can’t get enough of satin and silk at the moment, paired with these gorgeous earrings and diamond cuff from Swarovski it’s the perfect NYE look. Sparkly but still simple 🙂  Continue Reading…

Hey guys,

Happy Saturday! I hope you’re all in the festive spirit now – only one week to go. I know for me it’s a week full of food, drinks and catch-ups and I don’t feel a bit guilty about it, ‘because it’s Christmas!’ 😉

As it is the season of giving, you may have seen I launched a competition over on my Instagram where you can win 2 of these gorgeous pendant necklaces from Cleo Roze for you and a friend. I just love them – they are a staple jewellery piece. Simple, delicate and beautiful.

Here I’m wearing 3 chains: The BoxChain Necklace in 45cm length, The Blecher Necklace in 60cm length and the BoxChain Necklace in 75cm length.

The pendants I’m wearing are: a pear-shaped life pendant, and a heart shaped pendant on the first chain. A moon and a lightening bolt pendant on the second chain and a diamond shaped crystal pendant on the last necklace.

They’re super affordable too – have a look on the website to get an idea of prices. The perfect Christmas present if you ask me 🙂

Have a lovely weekend guys,

Lou x

Hey there,

Monday is here again, every time it comes around I think ‘where did that week go?’ and now here we are in the last 3 weeks of 2016. What a crazy, good, fast year that was. Things have been so busy the last while, it’s got me really looking forward to winding down for Christmas. I feel like I’ve spent a lot of what was an amazing year looking forward (not that that’s a bad thing) but for the next few weeks I plan on enjoying the moment and reflecting on what was an amazing year. I have some posts to come about this too 🙂

Here I’m wearing all Primark everything. I’ve been finding so many gems in there lately. These jeans were €15, the chokers were €3 and €4, the heels were €19 and the shirt was €13.

Have a good week guys

Hey everyone,

As you know I spent last weekend in Belfast, although I’ve been to the city many times for work this was my first time having a few days to explore the city, and at the best time of year – Christmas. We stayed in the recently refurbished 5 star Fitzwilliam hotel which was just gorgeous. Look at the decor! I love nothing more than relaxing in a nice hotel bed every now and again, and this hotel was particularly nice. We arrived to music playing and a bottle of champagne on ice – it doesn’t get much better than that!

We managed to fit in quite a bit in a short weekend so I thought I’d put together a list to help those of you who plan on visiting over the festive season:
