Winter Coat Shopping?

October 30, 2017

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all having a lovely relaxing Bank Holiday Monday. I spent the day walking around the shops and catching up with friends. There is so many nice winter bits out at the moment. I had to use all my will power not to buy things (I’m trying to cut back after the big purchase that was my CAR, last week haha!)

I thought I would do a bit of online browsing and put together a post with my favourite coats online at the moment,

Just because I can’t shop doesn’t mean I can’t look 😉

Happy shopping!

Erdem x HM

October 30, 2017

Hi guys,

I’m so excited to be partnering with H&M for their most anticipated campaign of the year – the designer collaboration! H&M has produced designer collaborations for 13 years and it is now an established fashion event celebrated annually around the world.

This year, the designer is London-based Erdem. An award-winning designer who is a favourite in the fashion world. He is famous for his feminine, floral designs and his celebrity fans include Kate Middleton, Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller.

The ERDEM x H&M collection will contain a complete fashion wardrobe for both, women and men. In these photos I’ve captured the feminine and masculine aspects of his campaign! Tailored fits and florals are as important as eachother. I got to choose my favourite pieces from the collection to shoot – how amazing is this suit? And the dress? If you’ve been following me for a while you know these styles are right up my street. Fun, sexy, sophisticated- everything I look for in pieces I am going to invest in!
The full collection will be in College Green and hm.com on November 2nd.

British Champions Day

October 23, 2017

Hi guys,

As you my have seen on my Instagram and Snapchat I spent the weekend in London for QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse. When I was asked to come along I didn’t hesitate to say yes. It had been a few years since I’ve been racing properly, and I’m by no means an expert but it’s always such a fun day out and a great excuse to get dressed up.

British Champions Day in particular is just one of the best racing days in the year and in the world! It celebrates the very best in horse racing which means you’re guaranteed an entertaining day (and in my case a good opportunity to lose a lot of money on bets haha).

My first challenge was to find a dress. I, of course, went for my favourite colour this year – RED! I picked it up in Starla Boutique, its by the brand Jarlo. I then got a hat to match in Costello and Costello on Drury St. Finding a pair of dressy heels that are comfy is so important for race days – they are usually long days, with lots of walking around (possibly on grass) so avoid stilettos or anything too high. Dubrovnik Travel Guide

October 18, 2017

Hi guys,

I’m just back from one of the most amazing trips I’ve been on this year, to Dubrovnik.

I had heard so much about this place before visiting. So many people had told me it was there favourite place and I’ve heard of lots of Irish couples coming here to get married. I can totally see why now. The whole town is a UNESCO world heritage site – it’s so clean, untouched, romantic and relaxed.

How we got there?

We flew direct with Aer Lingus and got a taxi from the airport to the town (€35). We got an Uber when we were heading back to the Airport and that worked out cheaper at only €24.

What did we spend?

In Croatia they use the kuna it worked at about 7.5 HRK

for every 1 Euro. We spent about €70/€80 each a day. This included breakfast from the supermarket, lunch and dinner in restaurants, some drinks and an activity.

Where did we stay?

We stayed in an apartment in the Old Town, literally 2 mins from the main square. It wasn’t amazing, but it was clean, central and perfect for what we needed it for. It was handy to have a kitchen and to not have to worry about getting taxis. You can find apartments on Booking.com or Air BnB.

There are lovely hotels about 15/20 mins walk from the old town with pools and much more space than you’ll get in the Old Town. The only downside would be getting in and out of the Old Town after dinner at nighttime – although we did find Uber to be quite good over there.

The hotel Excelsior just outside the old town would probably be my top choice for a hotel – it looks amazing and the location is perfect, but I know it is pricey.

What did we do?

There’s lots to do in and around Dubrovnik, which is why I know it’s a place I’ll come back to again. Here are some suggestions for things to do based on what we did:

  • The City Walls Walk (€20 entrance fee, takes about an hour and a half, gorgeous views!) Sunset up here would be amazing!
  • Glass bottom boat out to Lokrum Island (€10 for the return boat trip, €17 entrance fee, feed rabbits and peacocks and sunbathe on the rocks)
  • Rent a scooter and explore outside the Old Town walls
  • Rent a beach bed at Banje Beach: sunbathe and enjoy good music and cocktails (beds cost between €12 and €30)
  • Watch the sunset from the Cliff Bars: Buza bar and Bard Mala Buza (Get there about 45 mins before sunset to ensure you get a spot! Drinks are reasonably priced, the views are insane!)
  • Get the Cable Car to the top of the mountain and take in the views of beautiful Dubrovnik from above (€17 return). We had dinner in the Panorama restaurant at the top, you’ll need to book this in advance (on their website). It’s a little pricey, but not that bad considering the amazing view! Continue Reading…

More Than Just an Outfit Post

October 6, 2017

Hey there,

Happy Friday! After the busiest September I’ve ever had, I’m coming back to blogging with a bang this week. I didn’t get to post on here as often as I would have liked with all of my travels, but I’m back to my usual routine now for the winter! And I have to say, I have never been so excited for the colder, darker months ahead haha! That sounds a little bit more grim than I mean it, I just can’t wait for cosy nights in, knit jumpers, coats, lots of hot drinks, and of course, CHRISTMAS!

I remember last year I would shoot an outfit post once a week with Brid before work, which meant a ridiculously early start, an outfit change before work and lugging around another wardrobe with me for the whole day. In the winter there is also the huge struggle that is, having only 6/7 hours of daylight in the day. This year I have so much more freedom and I plan on taking full advantage 🙂 I’m no longer living the double life of blogger/ office worker. I’m full time Louise now haha!

I shot this look in one of my favourite places to shoot – Trinity. I’m wearing a new Irish jewellery brand called New Romantic. It was founded by two Irish women who understand the beauty in simplicity. These delicate pieces are classic, feminine and striking without being overpowering – exactly what I look for in jewellery. They have a new shop on Drury Street in Dublin and can also be purchased online on newromanticjewellery.com – the perfect Christmas present if you ask me 🙂 See below for a link to all the pieces I’m wearing!

I love styling up looks and putting them together with some words here on my blog, it’s a nice way of showing my style at that moment in time but also is a little collection of memories for me. There’s always some funny back story to the shoot. Here are some that stand out to me: Continue Reading…
