The Best Online Shops

January 23, 2018

I know how hard it can be when you are online shopping for an important occasion and you just can’t find what you’re looking for. You’re wracking your brain trying to think of where else you could try – trust me, I’ve been there!

I wanted to make all of your lives (and mine) that little bit easier by listing my top online shops in one place, so the next time we’re in the mood for a bit of online browsing we know where exactly to go πŸ™‚

I’m going to keep adding to this list, and am determined to keep it up to date.

If I’m missing any of your favourites please do let me know πŸ™‚

My Top Online Shops:

My go-to online shop for nearly every occasion. They stock over 80,000 branded and own-brand products online. They have gorgeous casual day-time pieces, and amazing cocktail & evening dresses for special occasions. I try to check in on the ‘New In’ section once a week to keep up to date. What I love most about ASOS is their fast and reliable delivery service, as well as how easy it is to return products! It is also a really smooth website and mobile app which leads to me wondering if they are using the best ecommerce platform. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are!

This is my favourite for grabbing some really cool, trendy pieces. Another great delivery system, they even text you on the day it’s going to be delivered! It’s reasonably priced and would be go to for jumpers, jackets, going out tops (they even just created a whole section on their website for this), going out dresses, swimwear and accessories.

I have 30% off code for Missguided at the moment with the code LOUISE30. It works with all full priced items on the Irish and UK site only. See my top picks here.

A recent addition to my online shopping list but I absolutely love this site. It is at the very top of my list when I’m looking for something cool and a bit different to wear. How they style the clothes, the colours and the edgy designs are what I love about it. They often do discounts too πŸ™‚

Delivery can take a bit longer as it’s coming from Europe rather than the UK but it’s worth the wait!

Pretty Little Thing

Another great trend shop with great prices. This would be my one stop shop for night out outfits, and some new holiday wear.

I’ve been a fan of Nastygal for years, I first ordered from them in 2012 for my 20th birthday (god that makes me feel old). It was a US shop then, and it was pricey. Now it’s owned by the same company as Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing, its UK based and is much more affordable. But that hasn’t stopped them upping the fashion stakes online. I always head to Nastygal when I want something a bit different, a show-stopper outfit!

This is just the absolute dream online shop. I can never, ever go on to Revolve without wanting to buy 10-20 things. It is a little bit more expensive than some of the other shops I’ve listed, but it is home to lots of different labels, and so the prices vary. My favourite labels on Revolve are: Lovers & Friends, Tularosa and Majorelle.

Lots of people ask me about Revolve’s shipping – it usually tells you at check out what date you can expect the delivery. With regards to customs, you have two options – you can pay customs and duties at checkout with Express Shipping, or else you can choose Priority Shipping and your customs charges will depend on whether or not the post office stops the package. The charges will depend on how much the order is worth.

River Island

Reliable River Island as I like to call them. I find their website really easy to use, their sizes are always true to size and delivery and returns are straightforward. I particularly love River Island for Blazers, Boots and Molly Jeans. I also adore their Limited Edition pieces and online is the easiest place to get those. Remember this dress?

As much as I am not a fan of their website, or how they style their clothes on there. I couldn’t do a list like this without Zara. They are without a doubt always on the ball when it comes to trends, and stylish, classic pieces.

I know I can trust the quality so I never hesitate ordering from them. You have the option to deliver to a store as well to save shipping charges πŸ™‚

Ah good aul Topshop. My first love. I remember we used to have a Topshop in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, and I lived in there! Last week, I was in the huge one in Oxford Circus in London, and wow – all those feelings came rushing back. I felt like I was 15 again! I went a bit crazy shopping – you might have seen my YouTube haul?

Anyway, I do find it a bit harder to shop on Topshop’s website than in store – the pieces don’t always look as good or something? But if I see something on Instagram I like, I’ll go straight to the website to buy. Look up the hashtag #TopshopStyle and I know you’ll come across lots of amazing pieces.

Price-wise I know Topshop can sometimes be at the higher end of the high-street scale, but honestly anything I ever buy in Topshop I wear to death – so I can justify it πŸ™‚ Anddd, if you are in the UK it’s way better value (because of the exchange rate) so have no guilts at all!

Sheinside and/or Romwe

I love doing a bulk order from these sites every few months. They get new stock every day so are really good at staying on top of trends for an unbelievably good price! I’ve gotten so many questions about these sites ever since I mentioned them a few months ago on my Snapchat (username: lou1409). The most commonly asked questions:

Are the sizes true to size? Most of their jumpers are ‘One size’ which I’d say is about a UK size 10 (I know – it’s not exactly one size fits all). Other than that they mostly do small, medium and large. I judge by looking at the item what size I should go for. For the most part I order my usual size (small) but if something looks like it might be a weird fit I’ll go a size up.

I ordered jeans from them before and I wouldn’t recommend doing that. I ordered my usual waist size and the jeans that arrived looked like they were for an 8 year old child haha.

I would also be careful when ordering swimwear. Last year I ordered a few bits, some in small and some in medium. Sometimes the medium would be smaller than the small – which makes no sense. They are quite cheap, so sometimes I’ll take the risk anyway – sometimes it pays off and other times it doesn’t.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery usually takes about 3 weeks. So I never order if I need something in a hurry. You can get express shipping but even at that it still takes about 2 weeks.

Do you have to pay customs?

Technically you might be charged customs as they are goods purchased outside the EU, but I have never been charged.

If you’ve followed me since the start of my blog, you’ll know how big of fan I am of H&M. When I lived in New York I used to walk to H&M on my lunch break a couple of times a week, it was my favourite shop in the US. Most of my first blog posts show me wearing bits from H&M.

Last year I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with them, and I will be working with them again in 2018 – which is amazing πŸ™‚ It’s so much fun to be able to work with and represent a brand I really love!

I do most of my H&M shopping in College Green (the huge one in Dublin – it has everything). But if ever they don’t have my size in store I will go straight online to order and if you don’t have access to one of the flagship stores – the website will be your saviour!

And Other Stories

I was introduced to this shop when I lived in NY. I adore their jumpers and they do some really stunning dresses from time to time too. Oh and their denim is amazing.

I must admit I do love that when I order from them, I never see too many people wearing the same thing!

I have to say I found their delivery quite slow when I ordered from them – but the quality of what I received was really good, so I won’t complain too much πŸ™‚

Some other online shops I love:

Dorothy Perkins

Great for jackets, shoes and nice work-wear.

My go-to when I’m holiday shopping – it’s very affordable too.

Urban Outfitters

When I’m looking for something a little bit different or edgy I go here.

I go to MissPap when I want to buy into a trend, but the other shops mentioned above don’t have something I like.

Shopbop has an amazing collective of designers on it’s site – I look here when I’m looking to invest and spend money on something really special. Usually for a special occasion or a holiday.

Vestaire Collective

The best online shop for second hand designer bags. I have my eye on one on there at the moment.

My Theresa

I bought my Gucci GG Marmont Bag here – so if you are thinking of investing in a new designer handbag and they don’t have the one you want in store – this is a trustworthy website.

Some Good Aussie Shops (custom charges do apply):

Sabo Skirt

The Naked Tiger

Well I like NA-KD and also Asos.. these are sites I like to order from.. I did some orders from Missguided, but I donΒ΄t really like the quality that much.. I had a skirt which I LOVED but destroyed unintentionally and than I ordered the dress which whas tooooo short and the fabric wasnΒ΄t stretchy a bit… and than I bought a blazer dress which is actually nice but the fabric is tearing inside, so I am not ordering anymore and I am careful now what material I am ordering πŸ˜€
