Black Friday

Black Friday: What you need to know

November 19, 2019

Hi guys,

Welcome back to the blog! I hope you are all well. I am starting to feel very Christmassy and I ordered my tree for the apartment this week! With Christmas around the corner, the present buying has also started. As many of you may know, Black Friday is next week- the 29th of November. In this blog post, I am going to let you know the key dates so that you are prepared and can plan your wish lists .

All next week, I will be updating the blog with all the best codes, deals and my top picks so be sure to come back if you want to hear about the best deals!

Key Dates

So what days are the best days to shop? Read below for the key dates.

Monday 25th November:  A few sales may start on Monday. However, the discounts will most likely improve throughout the week so I wouldn’t shop today.

Tuesday 26th November: More sales will go live. This will usually be the retailer’s discount for the week so if you see something you like then I would suggest buying it now. I will have a list of all the codes that go live on Tuesday so check back here for that!

Wednesday 27th November: Most sales will have launched by Wednesday. This is probably the best day to shop Black Friday to ensure you get the best deals and the right sizes.

Thursday 28th November: The rest of the Black Friday online sales will usually launch.

Friday 29rd November: This is actual Black Friday! Although many people think this is the best day to shop, most of the sales will already have gone live by this point. A lot of people will have shopped online at this stage however stores will be busy!

Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December: A very busy weekend for physical stores. However, most online sales will have been live for a number of days at this point.

Monday 2nd December: This is Cyber Monday! Some retailers may further their discount however if you have your eye on something it may be gone already. Most retailers will continue the discount they had throughout the week.

What discounts can we expect?

A number of my favourite retailers will offer discounts throughout the week. Last year, Asos , & Other Stories, H&M and River Island offered 20% off everything. Brands such as Mango and Nike offered 30% off selected items. Nasty Gal offered 50% off site wide.

There are also great offers to be had on beauty. Last year, Beauty Bay and Cloud 10 offered up to 30% off everything. Cult Beauty offered up to 40% off everything. These are great discounts as usually the beauty retailers don’t offer this discount throughout the year.

Irish retailers such as Brown Thomas and Arnotts offered 20% off almost everything. Luna by Lisa offered 30% off everything and SoSu by Sj offered 20% off almost everything.

I hope this has helped you plan your Black Friday shopping! I am really looking forward to it myself to get some great deals.
