VIP Style Awards 2018

May 6, 2018

Hi guys,

It’s been over a week since the 2018 VIP Magazine Style Awards – and it only crossed my mind today that I haven’t done a blog post on my outfit on the night. I absolutely loved my dress, it was everything I had imagined. When I heard I was nominated at the start of March I immediately started brainstorming for a dress – my first stop was my Pinterest board of ball gowns (I save dresses here randomly throughout the year, whenever I see nice ones). Then I went to every online shop I know that sells ballgowns – and wow! They are expensive. Anything I saw that I liked was WAY out of my budget!

I knew I was looking for ruffles, tulle, a delicate top but I didn’t know where to find it. I went to the ARC Fashion Show at the end of March with my friend Ellen, and that’s where I saw Caterina Coyne and just fell in love with her designs.

I sent her some of my inspiration dresses, Caterina drew some sketches to match this – we met and then came up with the final design together. I absolutely love it. It’s feminine, fun, edgy and has a gorgeous shape. It was also super comfortable which is important on the night as it is quite a long night. Thank you Caterina!!! Continue Reading…

LA & Coachella Travel Diary

May 2, 2018

Hi guys,

Where do I even start with this trip? It honestly was the trip of a lifetime, with what felt like the longest build up to a holiday ever!

I’m so sorry for the delay in getting this post up. There was just so much to it, I kept putting it on the long finger haha! I know lots of you had questions about Coachella and some had questions about LA so I’ll try and cover everything. But don’t be afraid to message me if I’ve missed something and I’ll do my best to help.

First up – Coachella:

Coachella had been in the planning since November last year when we booked our hotel – it was 6 months in the works. I’ve wanted to go for years and was determined this year it was going to happen. I couldn’t hack one more year of looking at the photos and not being there haha! Continue Reading…

Lucy Nagle Cotton Collection

May 1, 2018

Hey guys,

I hope you’re all having a good week. I can’t believe today is May – is it me or did April just FLY by? Between the cruise, Coachella and the style awards I had a busy (and really fun) month, but now I need to settle down and get back to a little bit of normality (it’s a struggle).

I am so happy to see the long, bright evenings creeping in – any signs of summer are more than welcome! I even started packing away my winter wardrobe last week and taking out my summer bits.

These new Lucy Nagle Cotton Collection T-shirts are a lovely addition to my summer wardrobe. If you follow me on social media you’ll know I live in comfy, casual t-shirts paired with jeans and skirts. These new ones that Lucy launched on her website and in Brown Thomas are so soft, flattering and versatile – you can see how differently I’ve styled these 5 different t-shirt styles below (I’ve linked each one below the photo).

This is Lucy’s first collection of t-shirts – and there is 4 styles. She has a mix of round neck, v-neck and cold shoulder tees – so she really has something for every body shape and size (sizes go from XS – L). I wore a mix of sizes XS and S and I would say they are quite generous size wise – I wouldn’t always be an XS. They are all made from natural fabrics- Bamboo, Cotton or Rayon (Wood Pulp) – which explains why they are so soft.

They’re the perfect t-shirts for work, weekends and/or working out. I personally love the length (they are that little bit longer than normal tees so a little bit more flattering and comfortable to wear). Basics like these – that can be worn in so many different ways in every season are worth investing in. As I always say, you have to consider cost per wear 😉

Also, it’s important to mention they wash well (gentle machine wash, cold wash only, inside out) – and are priced at €60.

Check out the different styles I love below and how I’ve styled them – let me know what you think,

Lou x

Summer Savings at the Crescent Shopping Centre

April 25, 2018

Hi guys,

I’m baaack! I arrived home from LA on Sunday night – and have been playing catch up on everything since then but I promise I’ll have a blog post up soon with all the details of our trip to Coachella and everything we got up to in LA before and afterwards.

Although the weather has been pretty rainy since I’ve been back – I have summer on the brain and I just can’t help having a look at all the new summery clothes that have been arriving into shops the past few weeks.

I drove down to Limerick on Monday to check out what the shops in the Crescent Shopping Centre have on offer ahead of their Summer Saver night this Thursday from 5-9. They have discounts and offers in up to 40 shops in the centre (many are giving up to 20% off!!!) The Crescent is honestly my favourite shopping centre in Ireland. I spent all of my teenage years here – and to see it going from strength to strength with lots of new amazing shops makes me so happy.

I ran around a few of my favourite shops to see what was on offer ahead of the big night and here are a few of my favourite pieces that I found:

H&M Jumper €19.99 / Skirt € 19.99 / Jacket €34.99 / Hat €9.99 Continue Reading…

My Coachella Outfits

April 24, 2018

Hi guys,

Coachella is over almost a week and a half now (where has the time gone!) – I’m only back from LA a few days but I just realised I never did a post on my Coachella outfits.

I began brainstorming, researching and shopping for outfits in January. The fashion at Coachella is nearly just as important as the music. I wanted to be true to my own style while also having fun with what I wore and taking a few risks.

On the first day I wore all black with a vintage embellished Moschino waistcoat that I bought on ASOS Marketplace. I turned a kimono into a skirt with the help of the ZipYard and wore a high waisted Nastygal swimsuit underneath (which the desert heat allowed for).

On the second day I went for a more boho, colourful vibe wearing a cropped co-ord by the California brand Blue Life with a Versace headscarf. Continue Reading…

H&M Conscious Collection

April 9, 2018

Hi guys,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had Rosie’s hen this weekend in House, where I shot these photos – and it was so much fun. I’m trying to get back to normality today before I leave for LA in two days time. The excitement has well and truly set in (as well as the dread of packing!)

This dress is from the 2018 H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection and I’m so excited to be able to give you a preview of my favourite look from the collection. All fabrics and materials are sustainable but I love how that doesn’t mean they have sacrificed in style in any way. The pieces are classic, feminine and beautiful – just like this black lace dress.
