3 Big Trends for Spring

January 21, 2018

Hey guys,

Happy Sunday. I hope you all had a lovely, relaxing weekend. We need them in January after all of the madness at Christmas.

I was home in Limerick this weekend, and spent a lot of time browsing the online shops. You may have seen I posted a few discounts on my Snapchat (username: lou1409). I also started my outfit planning for Coachella which is very exciting!!! I’m looking far and wide (and starting months early) to put together 3 fab outfits I will absolutely adore for the festival. I also think it’ll be a good motivation to get back on the healthy bandwagon I’ve been trying to jump on.

For the moment, we are stuck in the midst of wet, cold January – but that hasn’t stopped me shopping for spring. This outfit is, for me, spring in a look. It shows 3 major trends: 1. Slogan Tee/Jumpers, 2. Cord skirts and 3. Coloured Baker Boy hats.  Continue Reading…

Fashion, On My Mind

On My Mind: Positive Mind, Positive Life

January 18, 2018

Hi guys,

I hope you are all having a great week – we made it through Blue Monday!!! It’s gotta be all uphill from here right? The January paycheck (for most) is on the horizon and the evenings are slowly but surely getting a little bit brighter – woohoo!

Today’s on my mind blog post is going to focus on positivity, because that’s one thing we could all definitely do with a little more of on these miserable wintery days haha. I’m going to give some tips that I think are helpful for staying positive and fighting away those negative thoughts. The way you think about something, can change your day, your mood, your interactions with people and your outlook on life. I’ve had my own experience learning this, and I’ve done some additional research for this blog – I’ll share both.

First of all let’s talk about Positive Thinking… What is it?

The “power of positive thinking” is a popular idea, it can even feel a little cliché at times. Some of you are probably rolling your eyes at the sound of it, but the mental and physical benefits of it have been proven many times. Positive thinking doesn’t mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore all things negative in the world. Positive thinking just means that you approach these not-so-great situations in a more positive and productive way. It means thinking the best is going to happen, rather than the worst. It encourages you to look for the good in people and yourself, rather than the bad.

Winter Walks

December 27, 2017

Hi guys,

I hope you are all having the best Christmas break, and getting lots of chill time in 🙂

I’ve been doing a lot of relaxing and a LOT of eating – so it’s no harm for me to get out for a walk with little Coop. He’s been getting plenty of exercise in running around the garden with our family dog Bo. So no fear of him, the walk was mainly for my own good haha!

I’m so happy to have him with us this Christmas, he really is the best company and entertainment.

We went for a walk in the woods in Tipperary, where my parents are both from, and even though it wasn’t the nicest day weather wise – it was still lovely to get out in the fresh air. I have to say the bipolar weather made packing for Christmas very difficult this year. It was freezing a week ago, and then it was back up to 12/13 degrees and now it’s cold again! I can’t keep up haha.

These SOREL boots are perfect for wet days, but also if the weather turns icy again they will have me covered. I’ve no excuse to not get out! You can pick them up online or else in Arnotts.

Anyway, that’s enough for one day – back to the couch I go 😉

Christmas Gift Ideas at Arnotts

December 11, 2017

Hi guys,

The time has come to start seriously thinking about present shopping whether you’ve just got that one tricky person left to buy for, or if you haven’t even started yet! Those of you who have all the presents bought already, please leave a comment and let the rest of us know how you do it!!!

I took a trip into Arnotts last week to have a look around their different departments and to put a list of ideas together to hopefully help some of you. Arnotts have an amazing selection for everyone you’re shopping for. Here are some my top picks:

Beauty Hall

  • Check out Zoeva and Cover FX – two new brands to Ireland, any beauty lovers would be delighted to try these. I personally love the Cover FX oil free foundations. It’s priced at €34.
  • Charlotte Tilbury have two fab gift sets that caught my eye – one is €66 and contains 5 of their best selling products. It’s called Beauty Icons. The other is a set of 3 mini lipsticks for €40 – I love their lipsticks so this would be another fab present
  • MAC have a gift set of 3 mini lipsticks as well, but there’s is €30 – if you are on a lower budget but still want the quality!
  • Jo Malone has just moved into the Arnotts Beauty Hall, and considering I’ve gotten my mom’s present here for the last two years, I think it’s a great addition! They’ve fab candles, perfumes, and room scents.
