I’m just back from the quickest trip of all time over to London to catch a day of London Fashion Week. I have never been to a fashion week before so I was extremely nervous and excited to go – I really didn’t know what to expect.

It was a jam-packed weekend, kicking off with some catch up drinks in Shoreditch with Erika on Friday night. As tired as I was after the week at work – I found a new lease of life once I landed in London. I just caught on to the energy of the city.

I finally got a chance to wear my French Connection Camel coat which I bought during the summer in New York. Along with this fab Culotte Jumpsuit which I picked up from Boohoo.com before I left. My shoes are Banana Republic – I’ve gotten so much wear out of them already, you can’t go wrong with black and white.

Saturday was spent running around in the Madness that was LFW. Our first stop was the Orla Kiely show. I’ve never been to a fashion week show before, from photos I’ve seen I had an idea of what to expect – but god was I wrong! The whole venue was decorated to match the ‘Golf’ theme, and the collection was very sixties in style. I loved every second. It was such an experience, it made me very excited for the rest of the day.

I was dressed head to toe in Boohoo.com. I love everything suede at the moment, so this midi skirt was just exactly what I wanted to wear. I matched it with a black cape blazer – which I’ve wanted for over a year now, I just love the style I think it really dresses up an outfit. The heels were also from Boohoo and I had so much fun wearing them (until 2 hours in when my feet started to hate me).  I love the fringe detail, it made my outfit a little bit different. Saturday afternoon we headed for the main London Fashion Week area, in Soho. It was absolute madness – but the good kind. Everyone was dressed so fabulously. There was every type of person and style you could imagine, and a million photographers there to capture every moment. It was very surreal but I loved it.

The Designer Showrooms were my next stop, where I spent most of my time lusting after Zoe Jordan‘s Collection – only to find when I left that she is doing a new collaboration with River Island – so looking forward to picking up a few pieces. Look at the marble leather dress below – in love! After this I took a quick trip backstage at the Holly Fulton show – which was the glamourous chaos you’d expect – so cool to see it all in action.

We finished our fashionable day at the Boohoo Blogger area. It was so pretty and filled with amazing clothes (and a flower wall) – the perfect end to a busy day. It was time for a well earned glass of wine. I was so happy to have the time to catch up with some of my closest friends from home while I was over too. I met my friend Cat for wine in Covent Garden then later met my friend Eve for some birthday drinks and a dance in Raffles nightclub, where we saw some of the Made in Chelsea cast… when in London.

I didn’t have much time to explore but every corner of London has something pretty to offer. I literally can’t wait to go back soon & just have time to wander around. Being there this weekend opened my eyes to what an easy & quick trip it can be from Dublin – I definitely plan on a few more trips over throughout the year. In the meantime I’ll be catching up on sleep!
