Hey guys,
I hope you all had a nice weekend – mine was very relaxed. I kicked it off with an amazing pampering day on Saturday. My skin has been all over the place lately, a few months back I stopped using face-wipes to remove my make-up (the mortal sin, I know!) and started using Garnier Micellar water. Thinking I was doing my skin the world of good, I was confused why I was breaking out after this change. I said I would pop into the Vanity Rooms in Stepaside for a facial just to clear out whatever has been going on – I went for the Express Dermalogicia Facial which is a 30 minute facial which focuses on cleansing and exfoliating using the Dermalogical products. The amazing Claudine talked me through everything, basically when you’re using wipes you’re pushing a lot of make-up and oil down into your skin. Changing to a different cleanser is bringing all of this bacteria back up and causing break-outs. I since have changed to Eucerin Micellar water, toner and moisturiser and I find it amazing. My skin is honestly 100 times better already!
After I sorted out the skin situation, it was time to hit the eyebrows. I’m honestly embarrassed to show you the below photo. The difference is insane!!! I went to Lorna Farrelly (The Brow Artist) who is officially the best Brow Artist in Ireland after winning the title at this year’s Image Business of Beauty Awards, which I also attended (see pics here). I’ve never had my eyebrows done like this before – they were threaded, shaped to suit my face shape and tinted – and the difference it makes to your face!!! I’m in love!!

I have to say though I am kind of glad to see the back of that weekend – as it means it’s the end of the Coachella photos (until next weekend!). I tried to keep myself as busy as possible to distract from the FOMO! I took advantage of the amazing weather on Sunday and said I’d for a Sunday Stroll in Dalkey. Sunday Strolls were something I used to do every week when I lived in New York – I would go off for the day, most of the time on my own, grab a coffee, listen to music and just go for a wander. It’s so relaxing and refreshing – I need to get into the habit of doing that more often here, there are so many cute little towns I’ve never been to. I work for Tourism Ireland – I should be on this!!

This week is a short one as I have the day off work on Thursday to take part in Fashion Independent’s Day in association with Frockadvisor. Myself and my fellow Limerick blogger friend Niamh, are going to be flying all around Limerick to our favourite boutiques. We’re starting in Newcastle West, then heading into the City, then to Adare and finishing up in Ennis. We have 3 hours to make it to as many as possible – thank god we have a Hailo taxi organised to bring us from shop to shop so we don’t have to worry about parking and things, but it is going to be madness. We’ll be racing against 9 other teams who are in different cities around Ireland – and we’re both a little competitive so it should be interesting haha
We’ll be tweeting and snapping all day so be sure to follow the race on the hashtag #FIDay!
This dress is from River Island from their RI Studio collection. I think it’s sold out now, but there’s a similar one linked below. Sometimes dresses this baggy can wash you out and give you no shape – but this dress with the wrap and D- Buckle detail gives a nice flow to the look.
That’s all for the moment – hope you’re having a goodweek
Louise x
