I thought it would make sense to do a post on what I spend 5/7ths of my week wearing – workwear. In Manhattan I think it’s fair to say that most offices expect you to dress professionally. Coming straight from college and part-time work, I really lacked in this department of my wardrobe so I did what every Irish person in this situation does – I ran to Penney’s.
Some of you may know I returned to Ireland last weekend for a few days as my grandad passed away. It was a sad few days, but it was also nice to have everyone together for the first time in a long time to reminisce and celebrate his life.
Before returning to the US this week I took a quick trip around some of the shops that we have in Ireland that we don’t have over here – and I’ve never realised how good we have it with Penneys, Dunnes, River Island – so many more. I remember a couple of years ago when coming to the US meant going on a shopping trip but that is definitely not the case any more. For one, we don’t get the value we used to get with the exchange rate and I also think Irish high street shops are more on the ball in terms of trends and style. This whole outfit below was purchased in Ireland & is very affordable.
