The timing of our trip couldn’t have been better, situated nicely between snowstorms. Myself and my colleague Dearbhla set out for Miami after work on Friday, January 30th.
We arrived just in time to head out to experience Miami’s famous nightlife. Our first stop was STORY nightclub, where we met Steve Aoki after he finished his DJ set, not a bad start to our holiday.
Saturday was our beach day. I’ve never experienced winter sun before, it was such a nice break from being bundled up in hats, scarfs and all the layers we need in NY to stay warm.
We were lucky enough to talk our way into LIV nightclub that night – one of the best nightclubs in the world apparently. Definitely LIVed up to expectations with bottle service of Belvedere for free
Sunday we woke up to the news that our flight had been cancelled due to a huge snowstorm forecast for NY that night. We managed to fit in a quick stroll along Ocean Drive, seeing the Versace mansion before heading to the airport where we learned we would be stuck in Miami for another night – poor us!
Our flight was re-routed via Nashville and Washington DC on the way home.
We loved every second, and thanks to the storm it ended up being more of an adventure than either of us could have predicted.
