MOVING INTO MANHATTAN

I’m so excited that in June I will be moving from Queens into Manhattan for the summer! I have been living in Astoria, Queens for the last 8 months, and I also spent my J1 living here. There are so many great restaurants and bars, lots of trains (N, Q, M & R), it’s reasonably priced and a 15 mins commute into Manhattan. As much as I do love Astoria – I’m really looking forward to being in Manhattan for the summer and exploring a new neighbourhood.

Any of you who follow my Instagram & Snapchat (lou1409) will know that I work in the city and spend all my weekends in here. I’ll be able to walk to work, I’m 7 minutes walking from the Flatiron building and Madison Square Park, and located just above Gramercy – so I can enjoy looking at all the pretty houses on a daily basis.

As for the whole process of moving – I’ve never done it before and am certainly not looking forward to it. I hear it’s one of the most stressful things you can ever do. I came here with 2 suitcases, how much stuff could I possibly have accumulated in 8 months? (Insert scared emoji here!)

I’m moving in on June 12th – the day I get back from the Dominican Republic – so thankfully I’ll have an extra pair of hands with me to do the heavy lifting (Thanks Eamon!) Expect lots of updates as I go, but for now I’m enjoying my last week in Queens. This is a photo from last night’s sunset in Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, Queens. In my opinion this is the best spot to look at the NY skyline, especially when there is a sunset like this!
