Hi guys,

I hope you’re all having a great week. I’m trying to get my fitness regime back on track after my weekend in Lisbon, that involved lots of eating out and of course a few drinks. It can feel a little overwhelming sometimes when you feel like you’ve fallen off the wagon, so I try to keep it simple and make small changes that I’ll stick to, but that really make the difference over time. It takes 21 days to make something a habit, so by introducing one new habit every 3 weeks, imagine where you’ll be in a year. These are my top 5 easy tips to lead to big changes in your overall health and fitness over time:

1. Swap Brown for White

I try my best to make smart choices where possible, get brown rice with a take away, brown bread with a sandwich, wholewheat pasta, you get the jist. You can treat yourself without falling completely out of your routine.

2. Swap Lemon and Hot Water for Tea/ Coffee

By swapping your morning tea/coffee for lemon and hot water you are kick-starting your metabolism first thing and already getting more water into your day. If, like me, you struggle to drink as much water as you should, this is a great way to get it in.

3. Try a New FUN Exercise Class

You may have seen on my Snapchat and Instagram that I tried Aerial Yoga for the first time yesterday morning at the #PrimarkSetGo event. It didn’t even feel like a workout at the time as we were having so much fun, but wow, my muscles felt it yesterday! There’s no doubt that the gym can get monotonous and a little boring, so mixing it up with something new really makes excerising more enjoyable. I’m dying to try Aerial hoop and Ballet Barre. They’re next on my list.

4. Walk More!

This one may take some getting used to, but by changing your routine to include more walking you will really start to see results. Even if it’s 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening – you’re adding cardio into your routine and saving yourself the bus fare/ petrol. Win win.

5. Buy Cute Gym-gear

Last but not least, buying new cute gym gear definitely helps me to get back in the gym. Even after the laziest of weekends. You have to remember you exercise and eat well to make yourself feel good, and stylish gym gear definitely helps. Primark have such cute activewear in at the moment. Everything I’m wearing in these photos is from Primark – how amazing are the blush pink tops and these patterned leggings? You can see another post I did wearing Primark activewear here as well.

I hope you found these honest and simple tips some what helpful – they work for me but everyone is different. I’d love to hear what your top tips are? Is there any other simple things that I should try to add into my routine? Let me know on Snapchat (lou1409).

I’ll be back later in the week with a blog post guide to Lisbon,

Have a great hump day,

Lou x
