Hi everyone,
Happy Friday! I’m so excited it’s the weekend, and as you know from my last post I am off to Milan in the morning. This month has been amazing for travelling and I’ve loved every second but it has been absolutely manic busy as well. I’ve barely had a second to think between trips haha. Travelling, working full time, managing my blog, trying to be healthy, seeing friends and family – there’s a lot to fit in, and it definitely can get overwhelming sometimes.
This week in particular I’ve gotten quite a few snaps from my followers asking how I find time for everything so I thought it would be useful to write a post about this just to explain that despite my best efforts I don’t always find time for everything, and the thing that probably suffers most is my downtime. And it shouldn’t.
I’ve definitely become more aware of it over the past few months and I do my best to make sure I get enough sleep, take some time away from my phone/ internet, and just chill. It can be hard to know where the line is with my work some times, because I enjoy it. But when I find myself working on my blog before work, through my lunch and every hour until I go to bed (which often happens) I know the balance isn’t right.
You have to try and see value in doing nothing, and not see it as a waste of time – despite the lack of action. According to this Forbes article “slacking off and setting aside regular periods of ‘doing nothing’ may be the best thing we can do to induce states of mind that nurture our imagination and improve our mental health.” So there you go, there’s no need to feel guilt for taking downtime every now and again, the trick is to get the balance right between being productive and taking a break.

Anyway, a few words on these gorgeous cashmere jumpers I’m wearing in this post. They are all designed by the fabulous Irish designer Lucy Nagle and are exactly the kind of clothes I adore. Comfy, stylish and amazing quality (if only you could feel how soft these jumpers are!) Here I’m wearing the Cosy Crew Jumper, the Button Back Crew andDraped Rib Scarf and the Long Ribbed Cardigan. Perfect attire for some downtime when I’m back from Milan
Follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (lou1409) for lots of updates over the weekend – it’s gonna be a fun one, I can feel it!
Have a great weekend,
Lou x
