VIP STYLE AWARDS 2018

Hi guys,

It’s been over a week since the 2018 VIP Magazine Style Awards – and it only crossed my mind today that I haven’t done a blog post on my outfit on the night. I absolutely loved my dress, it was everything I had imagined. When I heard I was nominated at the start of March I immediately started brainstorming for a dress – my first stop was my Pinterest board of ball gowns (I save dresses here randomly throughout the year, whenever I see nice ones). Then I went to every online shop I know that sells ballgowns – and wow! They are expensive. Anything I saw that I liked was WAY out of my budget!

I knew I was looking for ruffles, tulle, a delicate top but I didn’t know where to find it. I went to the ARC Fashion Show at the end of March with my friend Ellen, and that’s where I saw Caterina Coyneand just fell in love with her designs.

I sent her some of my inspiration dresses, Caterina drew some sketches to match this – we met and then came up with the final design together. I absolutely love it. It’s feminine, fun, edgy and has a gorgeous shape. It was also super comfortable which is important on the night as it is quite a long night. Thank you Caterina!!!

My jewellery I picked up while I was in LA from the designer Melinda Maria – when I first moved back from New York 3 years ago and was starting my blog in Ireland, Melinda’s jewellery launch was one of the first events I attended. She was so sweet when I met her in LA – she is hugely successful and has some of Hollywood’s top actresses wearing her jewellery, so even the fact she remembered me meant a lot. I adored my jewellery on the night – the cross drop earrings, the ear cuffs and the ring finished off my outfit perfectly (well at least I thought so haha).

My shoes – which you can’t really see in the photos, were Manolo look-a-likes from Kurt Geiger in Kildare Village. My hair was done in loose Hollywood waves pinned back by Zero One Salon on Wicklow St in Dublin, and my friend Aideen Kate did this natural make up look.

I was nominated for Most Stylish Online Influencer on the night, for the second year in a row, which was such an honour! Fashion and style is my life and now my career, so it really was so nice to be nominated. Congrats to Lisa Jordan who won on the night, she deserved it ♥

And another huge congrats to Celia Holman Lee who won most stylish ever! I worked with Celia as a model from 2010 – 2015 and learnt so much from her! She introduced me to the fashion industry in Ireland and has always been so good to me. I was so happy she won, didn’t she look amazing?

Anyway, I’m off to enjoy the sunny weather we have in Dublin today (it’s a rarity so we have to make the most of it while it’s here)

Back soon with more regular fashion posts,

Lou x
