I can’t believe next week will be my last full week working in New York – it’s crazy to think how quickly this year has gone by. Yet when I look back to last September, it feels like a lifetime ago. New York has definitely become a different place for me than what it was when I first got here. I feel like you never really know a place until you live there – hence why I mentioned in my last post I wish we could do J1’s every summer. There are so many other cities I’d love to get to know as well as I do New York – LA, Chicago, London…

It’s funny to see a city go from a tourist destination to a place that you call home. I’m really excited to get back to regular tourist activities this weekend with my friend Ciara who is visiting from Ireland. It’s the perfect way to get out and appreciate New York before coming home in 2 weeks. We have a jam-packed itinerary including rowing boats in Central Park, Times Square, Bryant Park, a cruise around the city, Top of the Rock, Brooklyn Bridge and possibly a helicopter ride around the city (which I’m so excited about).

The heat may make getting around difficult but we won’t complain about that – we are Irish! I shot this look on 5th avenue during the week, I don’t think it’ll ever get better than being able to dash over here on my lunch hour. I picked up these gorgeous shoes in Banana Republic – a shop I’ve fallen in love with in the last few weeks, see a recent post I did here. They do free shipping if you spend over $50 so… happy shopping!
